Built-from-pinned-source install is NOT what was verified: the source-tree install reports 0+unknown (no git tags in the copied tree) and is rejected by bst; the verified runtime is the PyPI 2.8.1 release. Not exercised: element builds (sandbox/bubblewrap run), remote caches, full test suites (out of scope per task). /workspace source left unchanged.
